The design depends on the quality of the original artwork.
For simple logos in one color a vectorgraphic would be best
AI up to Version 8.0, PDF Files and to be safe, include the used fonts.
For fullcolor/size Designs a 300 dpi JPG in half of full size of the head would be best.
